Fees and Tours
Admission to Garden in the Woods: $7; 65+ - $5; Students (with ID) - $5; Ages 6-18: $3. Members admitted free with membership card. An informal guided tour, included with the price of admission, is offered at 10 a.m. Monday through Saturday, and 2 pm on Sunday. No reservations required.

GARDENERS DAY—Saturday, September 15, 10 am–3 pm (rain or shine)
See the Premiere of the New England Wild Flower Society's Gardeners Day Festival with expert advice, garden demos, huge native plant selection, and book signing.
- 10 am - Greg Lowenberg talks about "Planting Trees and Shrubs Like a Pro"
- 11 am - Organic Lawn Care with Paul Tukey (Paul signs copy of his new best-seller Sustainable Lawncare following talk - purchase your copy at the Visitor Center)
- 12 noon - "Best Native Plants for Fall Color" with Society Horticulture staff
- 1 pm - "Native Bulbs" with author Laura Eisener
- 2 pm - "Controlling Invasive Plants on Your Property" with Society Conservation staff

Inspire future gardeners with a scavenger hunt and visit the Flying Saucers, Labyrinth, and Idea Garden of ART GOES WILD.
Select from 550 native species and cultivars for fall planting. Let Society staff help you find the perfect ferns, trees, shrubs, perennials, and ornamental grasses.
FALL FAMILY FESTIVAL—Sunday, October 14, 12–4 pm (rain or shine)
Celebrate this beautiful time of autumn color and ripening at Garden in the Woods, featuring 1,500 kinds of native plants. Go on a scavenger hunt to seek out some fall treasures, see the ART GOES WILD show and circle the labyrinth, make a miniature garden in a dish to take home, meet some surprise creatures in the Garden, and learn about nature’s animal adaptations in one of our live animal programs. Stop by the Museum Store for beautiful toys and gifts, including holiday gifts for teachers. All purchases support plant conservation.
Live Animal Programs listed below in the Education Center are included with regular admission fee. Space is limited; tickets distributed on a first-come/first-served basis.
Animal Adventures 1-2 pm. How adventurous are you? Would you like to meet a wild cat called a Canadian lynx? Are you brave enough to meet reptiles such as a giant anaconda snake or a six-foot monitor lizard face-to-face? Join us as Ed Laquidara, animal specialist, introduces us to a variety of creatures and explains their roles in their ecosystems.
Curious Creatures 2:30–3:30 p.m. This lively program introduces an incredible diversity of creatures, describing their particular adaptations and secrets of survival. Meet an albino Burmese python, a blue and gold macaw, an African pygmy hedgehog, rain forest tree frogs, and many other curious creatures. This program teaches respect and appreciation for all creatures that walk, crawl, and slither on the earth.
