Turk's Cap Lily (Lilium superbum)
Turk's Cap Lily

The Turk's Cap Lily is among the largest members of the Lily family, reaching heights of nearly 3'. Bright yellow and orange with reddish-brown spots, the Turk's Cap is a standout. A single plant can produce up to 40 blooms. It can be found growing on moist roadsides, damp meadows and on the borders of bogs, and likes full sun with ample moisture and good drainage.

Early Native Americans used its bulbs to make soup.

Bloom time:Late July through early August
